Simpson ends fall state in sixth at A-R-C Championships

AMES, Iowa -- For the second year in a row, the Simpson women's golf team placed sixth at the American Rivers Conference Championships as the event came to an end Monday.

The Storm carded a three-day total of 1,118 to finish six strokes ahead of seventh-place Nebraska Wesleyan. Dubuque took home first place for the second consecutive year, while Wartburg and Luther ended second and third, respectively.

Senior Emily Jansen closed out her final fall slate with a 21st-place showing by tallying a three-day sum of 269 to lead the charge. Fellow senior Megan Crockett ended 25th after firing 97 on the final day for a total of 275. Freshman Sydney Stephenson shot a 97 to net 285 to tie for 28th.

Junior Averi Peck remained consistent throughout the event by shooting a 98 today to end 31st after finishing four strokes behind Stephenson. Freshman Hannah Mulligan carded a career-low 104 this afternoon to trim 12 strokes off her previous best.

The Storm will return to action next spring to close out the full 2020-21 campaign.
