Schutjer named Honorable Mention All-American

INDIANOLA - Stacey Schutjer earned a spot on the NCAA Division III State Farm Coaches' All-America Team, as announced by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Friday.

Schutjer, a 6-foot-2 junior center from Titonka, Iowa, makes her second appearance on the team, taking home the same honor in 2010. Schutjer is a First Team All-Iowa Conference pick and was named D3hoops.com Second Team All-West Region.

The sports administration major led Simpson in scoring (13.3 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg) in 2010-11. The Storm went 22-7, won a share of the Iowa Conference regular season title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship.

She led the Iowa Conference in field goal percentage (56.0), ranked fifth in scoring and third in blocked shots (61).

Schutjer is one of 40 players nation-wide recognized by the WBCA and the only player from the Iowa Conference to make the team.
