PHOENIX - Amy Hamilton scored 18 points, Simpson shot nearly 50 percent from the field and the Storm won the 2010 Grand Canyon Classic with a 93-67 win over Ohio Northern on Thursday.
Hamilton scored 11 points in the first half, going 4-for-9 from 3-point range as the Storm (9-3) extended their winning streak to eight games. Ali Sokol scored 15 points - canning three treys of her own - and Cathy Kain added 14 points and five rebounds.
Simpson made 13 3-pointers on the game and shot better than 48 percent from the field.
Joanna Snyder scored 15 points to lead the Polar Bears (10-2).
Hamilton went to work early, knocking down a pair of 3s and hitting a jumper as the Storm jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first three minutes.
Ohio Northern never cut the lead below double digits. Simpson controlled the contest wire-to-wire and led by as much as 29.
Jamie Elbert hit three 3s, finishing with nine points. Kelsie Reeves amassed a career-high seven assists while Darrina Bledsoe handed out four.
Simpson resumes Iowa Conference play Jan. 5 when it travels to Cornell for a 6 p.m. tipoff against the Rams.
