Men’s soccer falls to Wartburg on Saturday evening

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 contest to the Knights of Wartburg College on Saturday evening in Buxton Stadium.

Wartburg (5-4-2, 2-1 A-R-C) scored three goals in less than two minutes to take an early 3-0 lead over the Storm (4-5-1, 2-1 A-R-C) in the first period. The Knights added another goal off the foot of Nadim Gomez to push their lead to four at the break before Jack Palen scored his second goal of the night and 10th of the season to close the scoring in the 49th minute.

The trio of Ricardo Ibarra, Jordy Triana-Vasquez and Seth Bowman each had three shots to lead the Storm, while Enrique Idehen and Juan Sandoval both finished with two.
