Idehen’s late goal forces 2-2 tie

PLATTEVILLE, Iowa -- Two second half goals by Simpson College men's soccer was enough to force a 2-2 tie with Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday.

The Pioneers (4-2-1) grabbed a 1-0 advantage in the 28th minute on a Mitch Reid goal. The lead lasted 55 minutes until the Storm (2-3-1) scored.

Sophomore Ronaldo Ordaz Zambrano scored his first goal of his career in the 83rd. UW-Platteville responded with a goal in the 89th.

Senior Enrique Idehen tallied his second netter of the season with 40 seconds left to push the contest into overtime.

In the extra periods, the hosts held a 7-3 shot advantage, which kept the theme of them outshooting Simpson, 22-14.

Freshman William Kopp recorded 12 saves in 110 minutes of action to secure his first collegiate draw.
