Men's soccer earns team academic award
INDIANOLA - The Simpson men's soccer team earned the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award.
To qualify, teams must compile a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 throughout the academic year. Simpson achieved a 3.024 grade point average in 2009-10.
Simpson was one of four Iowa Conference schools honored, as Dubuque, Luther and Wartburg also made the grade.
The 2011 team returns seven starters from last year's 5-12 squad. Simpson went 2-6 in league play, finishing seventh in the conference and just outside contention for the league tournament.
