Haack named honorable mention all-conference

INDIANOLA - Simpson's Lucas Haack earned a spot on the 2010 All-Iowa Conference Men's Soccer team as an honorable mention pick, as announced Thursday.

Haack, a senior midfielder from Ankeny, led Simpson with five goals on the season. He added one assist, giving him 11 points, tying the team lead. Haack started all 17 games for the Storm in 2010, spending time as a forward and a defender in addition to his duties in the midfield.

Three of Haack's goals came in the Storm's 3-1, come-from-behind win against Cornell on Oct. 9.

Haack finished his career with 15 goals and four assists, including four game-winners.

The Storm finished the season 5-12 overall, going 2-6 in the IIAC to finish seventh in the conference. Central's Brett McKenzie earned MVP honors and Dan Rothert of conference co-champion Loras earned coach of the year honors.
