
Storm win floor in tri-meet with Army, Air Force
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Three gymnasts earned a combined four medals and the Simpson College men's gymnastics team dominated the floor exercise for the second consecutive week in a competitive tri-meet against Army and Air Force.
Brian Rollison showcased his versatility with a third place finish on rings and in the all-around, while Braxton Jones secured a share of third on vault. Jake Smith led the way on floor, notching a career-high 13.600 to propel Simpson to a first place team score of 53.150 in the event.
Smith's performance was complemented by personal bests from Jack Campbell (13.150), Paul Tiedemann (13.100), and Rollison (12.900) on floor, while Tristan Shorey added a career high on pommel horse.
As a team, Simpson posted a total score of 295.400 to finish third overall. Army claimed the team title with 311.450 behind three event wins, while Air Force secured two event victories to finish second with 307.850.
