CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson's Megan Petersen, Kara Lovik and Amber Johnson all landed spots on the 2012 All-Iowa Conference Women's Soccer Team, the league office announced late last week.

Petersen, a senior goalkeeper from Indianola, Iowa, earned first team all-conference honors for the second time in her career, adding to her selection in 2009. She finished the season with 104 saves and ranked second in the league with a .832 save percentage. She had the second-most shutouts in the conference with six and held opponents to a 1.16 goals against average. She closed her career ranked second in program history in saves (314) and shutouts (18) and third in wins (31) and goals against average (1.24).

Lovik, a senior defender from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, earned first team all-conference honors for the first time in her career after taking home second team honors in 2011. A four-year starter, Lovik anchored Simpson's back line to a 1.16 goals against average. In 2011, she helped the Storm to a 1.17 goals against average. She distributed two assists from the back line in 2012.

Johnson, a sophomore forward from Grinnell, Iowa, was an honorable mention pick. She led the team with 16 points on the year, tying Heather Adolph for the lead with seven goals. Johnson scored two game-winners for the Storm in 2012.

Simpson and head coach Ryan Sander went 9-9 during the season and 2-5 in the Iowa Conference, tying for fifth place in the league standings.
