Krider provides winner, again

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Ashlee Krider scored her second game-winner in as many days and the Simpson women's soccer team came back for a 3-2 win over North Central on Sunday.

Simpson trailed 2-1 at intermission before getting goals from Heather Adolph and Krider in the second half. The Storm (5-2) have won three in a row.

Amber Johnson gave Simpson an early lead with a goal in the 29th minute, taking a feed from Alex Stucky.

The Cardinals (2-3-1) went on to score two unanswered goals. The first came from Steph Crutchfield in the 35th minute and the next came off the foot of Stayer Hope only three seconds before halftime. Victoria Dunn assisted on both.

Heather Adolph provided the equalizer in the 59th minute with her team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Krider's game-winner came in the 62nd minute. The senior has three goals this season, all of which have been game-winners.

Megan Petersen had nine saves, going the distance between the posts.

Simpson won despite being out-shot 16-11.

The Storm travel to Canton, Mo. on Thursday, Sept. 20 for a 2 p.m. kickoff against Culver-Stockton.
