STORM LAKE, Iowa – Kellyn Arnold scored two, first-half goals and Buena Vista beat Simpson 2-0 in women's soccer on Tuesday night.
Arnold scored in the 24th minute and added an insurance goal in the 34th for the Beavers (10-8-1, 1-6 Iowa Conference).
The Storm (9-8, 2-5) were outshot 13-4, putting all four on goal. Amber Johnson had two shots on goal and Megan Petersen made four saves.
Despite the loss, Simpson earned the No. 5 seed in the Iowa Conference Tournament. The Storm will travel to Pella on Saturday, Oct. 27 to face No. 4 seed Central at a time to be determined.
Buena Vista's win is the first against Simpson in the history of the series, which spans 16 games.
