NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Ashlee Krider scored the game-winner three minutes into overtime as Simpson beat Fontbonne 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at North Central.
The Storm (4-2) won their second game in a row in their first overtime appearance of the season.
After a scoreless first half, Krider assisted Amber Johnson in the 63rd minute to give Simpson a 1-0 lead.
Kim Carter came up with the equalizer for the Griffins (2-5), finding the back of the net in the 70th minute.
Simpson controlled the pace of the game, outshooting Fontbonne 15-4.
Megan Petersen made two saves in the win.
The Storm close the weekend Sunday when they face North Central at Noon.
