Storm control Crown in 4-0 win

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - Freshman Nicole Pirie scored two goals, Megan Ginsberg had a pair of assists and Simpson outshot Crown 44-4 en-route to a 4-0 win Saturday.

Pirie scored the first two goals of the game for the Storm (4-0-1), who close their trip to Minnesota 1-0-1 after a 1-1 draw with Bethel on Friday.

Ginsberg assisted on both of Pirie's goals, the first of which came in the sixth minute and the second of which came in the 12th.

Lacey Davis made the score 3-0 seconds before halftime and Amber Johnson put the finishing touches on the contest with her goal in the 65th minute, assisted by Katherine Bird.

The Crown Storm (0-3) managed only three shots in the first half and one in the second.

Megan Petersen and Jess Toyne split the duties in goal for Simpson. Petersen got the win and made one save, while Crown didn't put a shot on goal against Toyne.

Simpson opens the home schedule Wednesday, Sept. 14 when it hosts Grand View in a 7 p.m. start.
