Dillenburg scores twice, Storm top St. Kate's

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Nicole Dillenburg scored two goals for the second time in as many games and the Simpson women's soccer team beat St. Catherine 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at the St. Catherine Invitational.

A senior, Dillenburg notched the 29the and 30th goals of her career on Saturday. She is now tied for sixth on Simpson's all-time list.

The senior found the back of the net in the sixth minute, taking a rebound off a save by the goalkeeper. She added an insurance tally in the 75th minute, giving the Storm (2-0) added breathing room.

An evenly played match, the Wildcats (0-2) outshot Simpson 16-15 and took five corner kicks to one for the Storm.

Megan Petersen went the distance in goal, making five saves in the shutout. Bri Coulter took seven shots for St. Kate's and Abbey Hinton made eight saves.

Simpson continues play at the St. Catherine Invitational on Sunday when it faces Clarke in an 11 a.m. kickoff.
