Simpson golf opens spring slate at Iowa Wesleyan

FORT MADISON, Iowa – The Simpson College men's and women's golf teams opened the 2022 portion of their seasons at the Iowa Wesleyan Tiger Classic at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course on Tuesday.

The women's team placed fourth with a score of 405, while the men finished 11th with 340 strokes.

Madeline Streicher shot an 86 to lead the women with a fourth place finish behind two Warriors from Waldorf and Iowa Wesleyan's Aubrey Duncan. Taylor Elam placed in the top-20 with a 101.

On the men's side, Grady Haynes led the way with an 83 which tied for 40th. Isaac Roe and Brendan Bayeur both tied for 44th with an 84.

The Storm men will be back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Wartburg Spring Invite in Waverly. They will then head to Kansas City on April 4-5 for the Park University Spring Classic. Simpson's women's team next competes at the DMACC Spring Invite on April 6.
