Simpson competes in DMACC Invitational

AMES, Iowa -- The Simpson College women's golf squad finished third and the men took home eighth in the DMACC Invitational on Wednesday.

Freshman Madeline Streicher continued her hot start to her career with another top-three placing. She tied a season-low 84 to capture third, just two strokes behind second place.

Senior Averi Peck and sophomore Sydney Stephenson both tied for 11th with a 92, which stands as a career best for Peck.

On the men's side, junior Grady Haynes paced the team with a 79 and senior Lucas Hemphill was close with an 82. Sophomore Isaac Roe shot an 85.

The Storm had a second squad competing with junior Brett Jansen pacing the team with an 87. Junior Carson Crile carded a 92.

The women head to Decorah, Iowa this weekend for the Luther Invitational. Competition begins Saturday at 9 a.m. The men return to the links next week in its home invitational at the Indianola Country Club on Wednesday.
