Football adds series against defending champion Mary Hardin-Baylor

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Simpson football has picked up a two-game series with defending national champion University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, which will begin next season, head coach Matt Jeter announced. The 2020 matchup will serve as the first meeting between the programs.

"We are fired up for the home-and-home series with Mary Hardin-Baylor beginning in 2020," said Jeter. "This is an excellent opportunity for our institution and football program to play a high-profile national contender early in the season. The standard of this program is to play the best 10 games we can each year and to make sure our players have a great collegiate experience. Playing one of the premier programs in Division III as well as traveling to Texas, will be a first for Simpson College and Storm football."

The Storm will travel to Belton, Texas next year for the season opener against the Crusaders, before hosting UMHB in 2021 inside Buxton Stadium.

Since 2010, the Crusaders have only lost eight games and have won two titles (2016, 18), while making it to the NCAA Championship final the last three seasons. UMHB competes in the American Southwest Conference and has won 16 conference championships since 2002.
