Storm defeated by Wartburg on the road

WAVERLY, Iowa – Peyton Mitchell had five aces, three kills and a solo block in the third set to help the Storm pick up a 25-19 win, but Wartburg claimed Saturday's American Rivers Conference contest 3-1.

The Knights (10-17, 3-4 A-R-C) won a slim 25-23 decision in the opening set and went ahead 2-0 with a 25-19 victory in the second. Simpson (8-20, 3-4 A-R-C) claimed its own 25-19 win in the next frame to keep the match alive, but Wartburg used an early 7-1 lead in the fourth to close out the match with a 25-17 win.

TOURNAMENT TALK
The Storm currently sit in a four-way tie with Central, Wartburg and Loras for fourth place in the conference. All four teams have one regular season game remaining and are battling not only for the final three spots in the A-R-C Tournament but also the right to host the first round on Nov. 7.
