INDIANOLA, Iowa -- After sitting down 2-1, Simpson College battled back to win 3-2 over Loras to snap a six-match losing streak in the series and win its fourth American Rivers Conference contest of the season on Saturday.
The Storm's (6-7, 4-1 A-R-C) four league victories equal the total they have produced the previous three seasons combined, dating back to 2018.
Simpson started with the early momentum by winning the first set, 25-22, but the Duhawks (14-4, 3-2 A-R-C) reeled off two straight in hopes of earning the road victory.
With the fourth set placed at 24-24, kills by Elizabeth Conroy and Jessica Jacobs sent the match into the fifth for the program's second such contest of the season. Once again, Jacobs closed a set with a kill to hand the Storm a comeback victory.
Jacobs finished with a career-high 29 kills with a .293 hitting clip. Marissa Salber had 44 assists and 16 digs, and Iman Ghalibaf finished with a game-high 33 digs.
