Olsgaard tops previous diving record, Storm win five in loss to Loras

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Naomi Olsgaard reset her own school mark, Brenna Yeutsy claimed two freestyle victories and the Simpson women's swimming and diving team won five events total in the loss to Loras on Friday evening at the Indianola YMCA.

Loras won the dual 120-103 as the Storm swam at home for the final time until January 27th.

The team of Megan Buitendorp, Mikala Williams-Yee, Cheyenne Wiederholt and Cassie Bergman started the night off with a victory in the 200 medley relay, finishing with a 2:02.42 time.

Yeutsy's pair of wins came in the 200 and 500 freestyle, as she clocked in at 2:06.40 in the 200 and 5:42.69 in the 500.

Olsgaard posted a 170.40 score in 1-meter diving, topping her previous school record by 13.25 points.

Sarah Prendergast took home the gold in the 100 freestyle for the second consecutive meet and third time this season.

Williams-Yee and Camryn Leeser finished 1-2 for the Storm in the 100 breaststroke.
