Two records fall after day two of Liberal Arts

DECORAH, Iowa — Brenna Yeutsy broke her own school record and the 800 freestyle relay added a second school mark to highlight the Simpson women's swimming and diving team through the first two days of the Liberal Arts Championships.

Simpson is in 10th-place with 59 points through the first 14 events. The competition continues Friday with the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 200 medley relay and men's 3-meter diving. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with finals getting underway at 6 p.m.

Highlights
• Yeutsy left her mark in school history breaking her own record in the 500 freestyle (5:34.73) from last season. She placed 10th finishing at 5:32.98.
• The 800 freestyle relay team of Sarah Prendergast, Cassie Bergman, Cheyenne Wiederholt and Yeutsy clocked in at a time of 8:32.57, besting the previous record (8:33.73) set last season.
• Prendergast swam a season-best in the 500 freestyle finals, finishing 13th with a time of 5:34.94.
