Prendergast, DePover lead Storm over St. Ambrose

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Sarah Prendergast and Madison DePover grabbed two wins each and Simpson's women swimming and diving team won eight events total to claim 120-94 win against St. Ambrose on Saturday at the Indianola YMCA.

Prendergast posted wins in the 50 and 100 freestyle, beating out St. Ambrose's Mallory Krpen in a close race by .19 seconds.

DePover represented the distance swimmers with two wins on the afternoon. DePover touched the wall in 13:07.27 in the 1000 freestyle and 6:20.75 in the 500 freestyle.

Carter Stacey followed DePover's win in the 500 freestyle, taking the silver .73 seconds behind and Katie Cardoza finished third with a time of 6:36.76 seconds.

Cassie Bergman, Kayla Cary, Megan Buitendorp and Mikala Williams-Yee took the gold in the 200 freestyle, 200 butterfly, 200 backstroke and 200 breaststroke, respectively.

The Storm hosts Loras next Friday, Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m. to end the three-straight home contests.
