Prendergast, Bergman win three events each, Storm top Austin College

SHERMAN, Texas — Sarah Prendergast won a pair of freestyle races, Cassie Bergman won two more events, and the duo helped the 200 freestyle relay to a win as the Simpson women's swimming and diving team beat Austin College 92-79 on Thursday.

The Storm won six events in all to improve to 3-2 on the season.

Prendergast won the 50 and 100 freestyle races, winning the 50 in 27.67 seconds and taking home the gold in the 100 in 1:00.58. She led off the winning 200 freestyle relay, joining Bergman, Cheyenne Wiederholt and Brenna Yeutsy (1:54.58).

Bergman came in first in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM. She won the breaststroke in 1:15.96 and the IM in 2:28.60, just ahead of Yeutsy (2:30.62).

Wiederholt won the 100 backstroke (1:08.99), ahead of another second-place performance from Yeutsy (1:09.77).
