Buena Vista pins way past Simpson

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Buena Vista used five pins and a technical fall to defeat the Simpson College men's wrestling team 35-18 on Friday night inside Hopper Gymnasium.

A forfeit for Kanin Hable and a couple of decisions by Ethan Riesselman and Riley Kovaleski had Simpson (1-7, 1-5 A-R-C) ahead 12-11 at the halfway point of the dual, but the Beavers (2-8, 1-6 A-R-C) tallied pins in four of the final five matches to surge to the American Rivers Conference road victory.

Riesselman and Kovaleski both went the distance in their matches, earning one-point decisions via riding time points. Shane Mathias pinned Jesus Ceja midway through the third period to hand the Storm their final win at 197 pounds.
