Storm tally three bonus-point wins in loss to Vikings
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – A trio of wrestlers collected bonus-point victories, but the Simpson College men's wrestling team fell 37-16 to Augustana on the road.
Kanin Hable (125) opened the dual with a 15-0 technical fall over Khadyn Jacobs to give the Storm (0-3) a 5-0 advantage. The Vikings (3-2) responded with three consecutive wins, but Simpson pulled within five team points with a 15-0 technical fall by Trey Kellow (165) followed by a pin by Jonathan Casaus (174) in 2:42.
Augustana used a pin at 184 pounds to push its lead to 27-16 and clinched the victory with a major decision at 197.
UP NEXT
Simpson closes out the 2023 slate with back-to-back tournaments, beginning with the Buena Vista Open this Saturday. The Storm will then travel to Naperville, Ill. for the North Central Invite on Dec. 9.
