Silva, Johnson place second at Under Armour Invitational

PELLA, Iowa – Nicholas Silva and Sam Johnson earned runner-up finishes to lead a group of five placewinners at the Central Under Armour Invitational on Saturday.

Silva went 1-1 at 133 pounds with a 7-3 decision over Jar'kavin Pennell (Nebraska Wesleyan), while Johnson earned a pin over Shy'Ron McMurray (Benedictine) and a decision over Avery White (Waldorf) in the 149-pound bracket.

Zach Westerfield also secured a top 3 finish at 133 pounds, defeating Charles Easterling (Benedictine) by a score of 8-5 and Pennell (Nebraska Wesleyan) via a pin in the third period.

Trace Goemaat placed fourth at 285 pounds and Ethan Riesselman finished sixth at 141 pounds.
