INDIANOLA, Iowa - Maddie Bosworth scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half, Britney Boland finished a rebound shy of a double-double and the Simpson women's basketball team led from wire-to-wire, beating Coe 77-68 on Saturday.
Bosworth added three steals and Boland finished with 13 points for the Storm (14-9, 7-5 Iowa Conference), who pulled away with a 13-4 run to close the third quarter.
Coe cut the lead to one six times throughout the game, the last coming on an Aleena Hobbs free throw with 5:39 to play in the third.
Bosworth answered, slashing to the hoop for a pair of layups. She scored six points in the final five minutes of the quarter and Boland knocked down a 3 to extend Simpson's lead to 56-46. Coe didn't threaten the rest of the way.
Jordan Holmes had 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Kohawks (13-10, 4-8), who lost their fourth straight.
Noreen Morrow finished with 16 points for the Storm, getting 12 in the first half.
Simpson built a big lead early thanks to a steady dose of Morrow down low. The sophomore scored seven of the team's first 17 points as the Storm took a 17-4 lead. Whitney Van Wyk and Mazkenzie Haupt each hit 3s in the first quarter.
Up next: Simpson hosts Buena Vista on Wednesday, Feb. 17 in the final home game of the regular season. The Beavers (14-9, 8-4) lost to Loras 71-68 on Saturday.
