ELSAH, Ill. — Freshmen James McKee and Tyler Marine combined for three school records Friday night at the Liberal Arts Championships. Simpson is in ninth place with 108 points, and Franklin leads all with 487 points.

"We're continuing to swim better than expected," head coach Tom Caccia said.

McKee and Marine teamed up with seniors Dylan Gray and Cody Carlson to break the school record in the 200 medley relay. The four finished in eighth place with a time of 1:40.17.

Individually, McKee finished 16th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.91, but had broken the school record in the prelims with a time of 55.45. Marine finished 12th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.76 for the school record. The previous record was set in the 2011-12 season by Stephen Schmidt with a time of 56.61.

The 800 freestyle relay team of Ethan Woodruff, Austin Andes, Michael Reuter and Sam Law finished eighth with a time of 7:57.17.

"You can't do any better than the best you've ever done," Caccia said. "We're very happy with our performances."
