Men's swimming defeats Iowa Lakes CC in home dual

INDIANOLA, Iowa — The men's swimming and diving seniors showed their strength today with an 119-59 win over Iowa Lakes Community College, at home for the last time on Saturday.

"I was very pleased with our swimmers today," head coach Tom Caccia said.

Seniors Dylan Gray, Cody Carlson, Michael Reuter and Phoenix Russell hit the pool for the last time in front of a home crowd.

Gray and Carlson won three events each, and Russell added a win in 1-meter diving with a score of 191.90. Carlson won the 100 freestyle in a season-best 50.60 and Gray won the 50 freestyle in 22.55.

The Storm added wins in both relays, with the 200 medley relay team of Tyler Marine, Gray, Carlson and James McKee finishing in 1:43.92 and the 200 freestyle relay team of Carlson, Ethan Woodruff, Sam Law and McKee finishing in 1:34.03.

Law won the 100 backstroke in 57.31. Marine won the 500 freestyle in 5:28.14 and the 200 individual medley in 2:17.72.

"It was our first meet in a month, but it is very obvious we're ready to race," Caccia said. "It's good to see the team coming together the way we are."

UP NEXT
The Storm will compete in the two-day Grinnell Invitational on January 20 and 21. The meet begins Friday morning at 9 a.m.
