Men's swimming comes up short in dual at Iowa Lakes

ESTHERVILLE, Iowa — Dylan Gray had two individual first place finishes, and two freshmen earned a spot in the top five of the record books in a 133-82 loss at Iowa Lakes on Saturday.

Gray, a senior, won in both the 100 freestyle relay, with a time of 50.39, and the 50 breaststroke, with a time of 28.19.

Freshmen Ethan Woodruff and Tyler Marine each took first place for the Storm in their races. Marine's 57.24 finish in the 100 backstroke is second in the Simpson record books. The 400 freestyle relay of Dylan Gray, Ethan Woodruff, Sam Law, and James McKee also finished first in a close race with a time of 3:28.06.

Marine had a second place finish in the 100 IM in 1:00.89, which is also second in the record books, and classmate McKee placed second in the 200 freestyle.

UP NEXT: The Storm travel to Cedar Rapids to face conference opponent Coe on Friday, Nov. 4.
