Storm drop duals to Beloit, Ripon

BELOIT, Wis. — The men's swimming team had two very close finishes in losses to Ripon and Beloit in a double dual on Saturday.

The Storm lost 101-81 to Ripon and 93-87 to Beloit.

"We really swam well today," head coach Tom Caccia said. "Naturally, we were pretty tired going up against a couple of very evenly matched teams. For us, it was a numbers game again where our size caught up with us."

Dylan Gray finished first tonight in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.50. He also placed third in the 100 freestyle in 51.44.

The 200 medley relay team of Tyler Marine, Dylan Gray, Michael Reuter, and Ethan Woodruff finished second in 1:44.02. Marine also had two other second-place finishes, in the 100 backstroke (58.01) and the 200 individual medley (2:16.26).

"There is not one area of what we're doing where I can find fault," Caccia said. "I'm looking forward to the Pioneer Invite at Grinnell where we can do much better in an invitational setting."
