INDIANOLA, Iowa – Simpson men's soccer players Louis Joslyn, Kyle Kusy and Mitchell White landed spots on the NCAA Division III Capital One Academic All-District 8® First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA).

As first team selections, all three advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first, second and third team All-America honors will be selected later this month.

Simpson players accounted for 1/4 of the 12-member team, tops in the Iowa Conference. Joining the Simpson trio were Joe Rayburn (Pacific Lutheran), Ben Anderson (Trinity), Matt Buzynski (Wartburg), Sam Koenig (Loras), Richie Marquez (Redlands), Kevin Wien (Pacific Lutheran), James Garcia-Prats (Luther), Michael Matthews (Texsas-Dallas) and Tim van den Bergh (Loras).

Complete Academic All-District Teams

Joslyn, a sophomore midfielder from Baldwin, Kan., owns a perfect 4.00 grade point average as a mathematics and computer science double major. Voted as a team captain in just his second year on the team, he has started 19 of 20 games and has three goals and an assist on the year.

Kusy, a junior midfielder from Urbandale, Iowa, owns a 3.98 grade point average in mathematics. He has started all 20 games this season and has started all but one game during his three-year career. Kusy leads Simpson's midfielders with four goals and is on pace to become a two-time, Iowa Conference All-Academic selection.

White, a junior forward from Decorah, Iowa, owns a 3.33 grade point average as an athletic training major. He leads the Iowa Conference with 14 goals, adding four assists for a league-high 32 points. White has catapulted up Simpson's career record books this season and currently has 34 goals in three seasons, tied for the second most in school history and just two shy of the school record. He earned Iowa Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 22 after a week that included his second career hat trick.

Simpson began the 2013 season with the longest unbeaten streak to start a season in school history, going 7-0-2 in the first nine games. The Storm finished the regular season 11-6-2 and 4-3 in the Iowa Conference, good for fourth in the league.

After Saturday's IIAC Tournament win over Dubuque, Simpson will face top-seeded Loras in the IIAC Tournament Semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
