Lindenman, men's golf take home title at Dubuque Invitational

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Trent Lindenman took home medalist honors and Simpson boasted seven of the top 10 finishers as the men's golf team won the season-opening Loras Invitational on Tuesday.

Simpson's varsity team fired a 307 to win by eight strokes over its own junior varsity team, which topped Augustana (Ill.) by a stroke.

Lindenman carded a two-over 74 for the first tournament victory of his career. A junior, he was just two strokes shy of tying his career-low.

Andy Hutchins finished two shots behind Lindenman, tying for second after turning in a 4-over 76. Freshmen Logan Floyd and John Hartung and junior Nathan Molstead shot 77s to sit in a four-way tie for fourth.

Freshman Nick Hartman and sophomore Mitch Tomlonovic each carded an 80 to factor into the six-way tie for 10th.
