September Student-Athletes of the Month: Sadie Timms and Trent Lindenman

Sadie Timms needed little time to adjust to collegiate cross country and Trent Lindenman turned in career-best rounds for the golf team as the duo earned Simpson’s Student-Athlete of the Month honors for September 2014.

A freshman from Ames, Iowa, Timms led the Storm in each of three meets to start the season. She came in second at Simpson’s Buxton Invitational to open the year, placed 38th at the Augustana Twilight in Sioux Falls, S.D. and came in 40th at the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational in Rock Island, Ill. The Twilight Meet featured 266 total runners spanning all divisions. In Rock Island, Timms went up against nearly 500 other runners while competing in the first 6k of her career.

A junior from New Sharon, Iowa, Lindenman had a career fall for the Storm on the links. Boasting a 72.1 average in eight rounds, he earned medalist honors in three of Simpson’s five competitions, posting the top score at the Loras, Dubuque and Simpson Invitationals. Lindenman fired a career-best 68 at the Simpson Invitational, helping the Storm to a win in the team standings while posting a 289, the lowest round by a Simpson team during seventh-year head coach Jason Marvelli’s tenure. Lindneman also led Simpson to a team win at Loras.
