Gonzalez, Joseph lead Storm at William Penn Duals
OSKALOOSA, Iowa – The Simpson College women's wrestling team returned to the mat for the first time in nearly three weeks at the William Penn Duals on Saturday.
The Storm (5-5) started the day with a 28-14 loss to the Statesmen (5-6) and then fell 31-17 to Midland University (3-1) and 33-9 to Iowa Central Community College.
Priscilla Gonzalez and Jenna Joseph combined for six of Simpson's eight individual wins on the day. Gonzalez pinned her opponents from Midland and Iowa Central after earning a forfeit in the opener, and Joseph posted a pair of technical falls around a forfeit.
Gonzalez improved to 7-3 with her wins and ties Kyla Pattillo for second on the team with four pins. Joseph is now 16-4 overall with six pins and five technical falls, both team-highs.
