Williams' standout performance gains all-tournament honors
INDIANOLA, Iowa -- After this weekend's tournament in Mount Vernon, sophomore Emily Williams has been named to the Cornell Classic All-Tournament Team. Williams led the team to a victory over No. 21 Cornell College with 14 kills, three aces, and three digs in that game alone.
Emily Williams totaled 29 kills on the weekend (2.63 kills/set), with her highest kill count being in the five-set victory over Cornell. She added 11 digs for the team this weekend across three games. Williams also succeeded behind the service line with three aces and sealed the net with her three blocks.
This is Emily Williams' first time achieving all-tournament honors this season, and her fourth time receiving all-tournament recognition in her career.
The Storm will return to the court on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Grinnell for a 6 p.m. game.
