Thornburg, Cooper, and Johnson add to school record books at Darren Young Classic
GRINNELL, Iowa - There was no shortage of accomplishments for the Simpson women's track team on Saturday at the Darren Young Classic, highlighted by three new school records, three top of the podium finishes, and a third place finish as a team.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Jenna Thornburg became only the sixth Storm to break the 8-second barrier in the 60m dash, taking second overall with a time of 7.98 seconds, tying her for third best in school history.
- Emma Cooper broke into the school record book in the 60m dash, taking third overall in the event with a time of 8.09 seconds, placing her eighth all-time in program history.
- Aaliyah Johnson broke her own personal record in the triple jump, winning the event with a leap of 10.89m, which puts her within 0.1 meters of second best in school history.
