Storm wrap up A-R-C Indoor Championships with strong performances

WAVERLY, Iowa - Highlighted by Jenna Thornburg's school record setting performance in the 60m dash, and Teghan Booth's all-conference performance, the Simpson women's track and field team took sixth overall at the A-R-C Indoor Championships on Saturday.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS

  • Jenna Thornburg's time of 7.92 seconds in the 60m dash eclipsed Amy Wigen's school record of 7.96 seconds set back in 2001, as she earned seventh overall in the event.
  • Teghan Booth added more hardware to her trophy case on Friday, taking home second overall in the 5000m with a time 17:51.24, earning her all-conference honors.
  • Aaliyah Johnson's fifth place finish in the Pentathlon with 2780 points puts her sixth in school history in the event, breaking her own personal record.
  • Chloe Wierson and Emma Cooper in the 200m dash now rank ninth and 10th respectively in program history in the event.
  • Olivia Merrill set a new personal record in the shot put with her mark of 12.45m, and ranks eighth in school history.
  • Anna Parrott improved upon her own personal record in the Pentathlon, finishing with 2671 points, which moves her closer to seventh best in program history.
  • The Storm's DMR team finished fifth overall with a time of 12:56.77 minutes, which ranked seventh best in school history.
  • The 4x400 relay team finished fifth overall with a time of 4:06.24, which earned them 10th best in program history.
