Storm fall short against Coe, pick up multiple individual wins

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Kate Minette and Maude Steinbeck combined for three freestyle wins, but the Simpson College women's swimming team narrowly fell 104-78 to Coe in their last competition before the conference championships that will take place in two weeks.

Minette won the 50 and 100 freestyle races, while Steinbeck was victorious in the 500 yard freestyle. The Storm were also victorious in the 200 yard freestyle relay, with the team of Carlee Smith, Katelyn Smith, Breana Hinson, Riley Carl winning in 1:56.25.

INDIVIDUAL FIRST PLACE FINISHES
Kate Minette: 50 yard freestyle, 26.05
Kate Minette: 100 yard freestyle, 57.15
Maude Steinbeck: 500 yard freestyle, 5:54.65

RELAY FIRST PLACE FINISHES
Carlee Smith, Katelyn Smith, Breana Hinson, Riley Carl: 200 yard freestyle relay, 1:56.25

UP NEXT
The Storm will jump back into the pool as they travel back to Cedar Rapids on Feb. 20-22 to compete in the A-R-C Championships.
