Women take to Grinnell competition, Kate Minette leads the way

GRINNELL, Iowa – The Simpson women competed in a swim meet today in Grinnell, facing off against both Grinnell and Luther over the course of the day. Throughout the competition, many swimmers came out with strong performances in their events.

In the 200 yard freestyle, Kate Minette took sixth place, defeating ten other opponents, with a time of 2:04.50. In the 100 yard breaststroke, Jessika Coll brought home a top-five finish with her time of 1:14.27, beating out seven other athletes at the meet.

The strongest performance of the day was Kate Minette's third place finish in the 50 yard freestyle, coming in with a 25.83, just a little over a second behind first place. Minette also took a fourth place finish in the 100 yard freestyle with a 58.08. Bre Hinson took eighth place with a 59.68 in the same event.

In the 200 yard freestyle relay, the Storm took sixth place with the team of Bre Hinson, Riley Carl, Jessika Coll, and Kate Minette with a time of 1:50.06.

The Storm will compete in the Pioneer Classic in Grinnell on December 6th and 7th.
