Storm women open season with home relay meet

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Storm women opened their season today in a team competition in Indianola. The team took fourth place and showed promise for a strong season ahead.

The women showed their skills in the 200 freestyle relay where the team of Maude Steinbeck, Carlee Smith, Jessika Coll, and Kate Minette took third place with a 1:50.40 finish. The women also had a great showing in the 400 freestyle relay in which Carlee Smith, Maude Steinbeck, Breana Hinson, and Kate Minette placed fifth.

In the mixed 200 relay, Breana Hinson and Riley Carl teamed up with the men Tyce Dolphin and Chance Penrod to take first place in the event, the women's best showing of the day.

4. Simpson College - 34 points

The Storm will return to the pool on Oct. 26 to face off against Loras and Iowa Western in Indianola again.
