Slavin named assistant men’s wrestling coach

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Simpson College head men's wrestling coach Dylan Peters has announced former Storm wrestler Jakob Slavin as the program's top assistant coach.

A 2022 graduate of Simpson, Slavin returns to campus after spending the last two years coaching in his home state of Arizona. While there, he served as an assistant coach at Cactus Shadows High School, where he helped develop the school's first-ever state champion.

"Jakob's passion for wrestling is undeniable," said Peters. "I'm excited to have such a dedicated former Simpson athlete and alumnus on staff, and I have no doubt he will bring a ton of value to the program."

Slavin was a three-year letterwinner for the Storm, achieving a career-high 16 wins in his final season, which earned him the team's Most Improved Award. As a sophomore, he was honored with the Coaches Appreciation Award and the Bob Darrah Leadership Award.
