
Men’s wrestling to open season at Cornell
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Picked seventh in the American Rivers Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the Simpson College men's wrestling team is set to open its season on the road at Cornell.
2022 IN REVIEW
- The Storm were led by a strong senior class that accounted for 136 of the team's 218 individual victories. Shyler Langley paved the way with 28 wins in 38 matches, while Zach Stewart (24) and Dylan McChesney (22) surpassed 20 wins as well.
- Langley and McChesney each recorded six wins in A-R-C dual action as Simpson went 2-6 against league foes, picking up wins over Nebraska Wesleyan (33-14) and Buena Vista (39-9).
- The Storm finished the year with an overall dual record of 6-7.
- Langley led the team at the Lower Midwest Regionals in Illinois, placing eighth at 174 pounds.
- In other tournament action, McChesney and Stewart won individual titles at Buena Vista and Coe, respectively. Simpson collected 14 top 3 placings throughout the year.
