NCAA Lower Midwest Regional on docket for Storm

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson wrestling squad will take aim at the NCAA Lower Midwest Regional this Saturday and Sunday in Dubuque, Iowa at the Five Flags Center.

Competition begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday for the first two sessions and the remaining three segments will start on Sunday at 11 a.m. Single day tickets cost $13 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. A two-day pass is $24 for adults and $18 for seniors and students.

In order to advance to the NCAA Division III National Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a wrestler will need to place in the top three of their respective weight class this weekend.

STORM NOTES
• Out of the 10 wrestlers for Simpson, all but two will be making their first appearance at the regional meet. Sam Mathis will compete in his third regionals with a 1-4 mark. Dylan McChesney will be on the mat for the second time after securing a 1-2 record last season.
• Head coach Dylan Peters will make his debut for the Storm at an NCAA Regional event. Peters has guided Simpson to a 3-12 mark in 2019-20, two more wins that last year.
• The Storm are still searching for their first national tournament qualifier since Curtis Barber accomplished the feat in 2007. No wrestler has obtained All-American status for the Storm since 2006.
