Simpson makes home debut, Ingram wins third all-around title

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Avery Ingram won her third all-around title to lead the Simpson College women's gymnastics team in its inaugural home competition against fellow first-year program Greenville.

Ingram recorded a 36.925 across all four events fueled by season-highs on vault (9.400) and bars (9.025). She added a 9.000 on beam and placed third on floor with a 9.500.

Simpson opened the day on vault, with Brooklen Morgan, Kaelyn Tally and Wynter Poolaw all scoring a 9.500 to share the event title with Greenville's Ellery Gilmer. Ingram received a 9.400 and Bella Dix contributed 9.350 points to help the Storm outscore the Panthers 47.250-46.625 on the apparatus.

Poolaw earned a second podium finish during Simpson's next rotation, placing second on bars with a program record 9.150. Ingram added another personal-high of 9.025 followed by Annika Cole (9.000), Avril Crespin (8.700) and Morgan Svec (7.675).

On beam, Baily Tessena was just .1 behind Greenville's Amara Nelson and Molly Froman who tied for first with a 9.600. Olivia Short made her collegiate debut in front of the home crowd with a 9.325 and Ingram finished third on the team with a 9.000.

Emma Tolbert tied Greenville's Rachel Miller for the top score on floor with a 9.550 from the anchor spot. Ingram posted the next highest score to place third with a 9.500.

Simpson competed five-up, five-count on vault, bars and floor and finished the day with a 181.850. The Panthers accrued a team score of 184.025 to sweep the season series over the Storm.
