Storm succumb to Loras on the road
DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Simpson College men's tennis team could not manage to overcome Loras, falling on the road in American Rivers Conference action on Friday evening.
The Storm (3-11, 1-4 A-R-C) won its match at No. 3 doubles, with the duo of Drake Downard and Ethan Humble winning to improve their season record together to 7-4. The Storm had a chance to take the doubles point and go up 2-1 into singles, but the Duhawks (10-5, 2-2 A-R-C) won in a tiebreak at No. 2 doubles.
Aaron Price forced tiebreaks in both of his sets against his opponent at No. 3 singles, but the Duhawks held on to win the remaining singles matches and improve to .500 in American Rivers Conference play.
The Storm will have no time to dwell on the loss, facing off with Dubuque at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.
