Norse defeat Storm in home opener

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson College men's tennis team was defeated by Luther in its spring home opener, Saturday, at the Buxton Tennis Complex.

The Storm (3-8, 1-1 A-R-C) knew they were in for a tough challenge as the Norse (11-6, 3-0 A-R-C) had won seven in a row coming into the match and were tied atop the American Rivers Conference.

The Norse took the three doubles matches, despite the duo of Drake Downard and Ethan Humble narrowly dropping its match at the No. 3 spot by a score of 8-6.

Luther won at No. 1 singles behind the No. 10 ranked singles player in the region, giving the Norse a 4-0 lead. The Norse eventually got the match-clinching win at the No. 3 spot.
