Storm men defeat Kohawks in final pre-conference tuneup
INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson College men's swimming and diving team defeated Coe on Senior Day in its final meet before the American Rivers Conference Championships in two weeks time.
Before the meet, the team honored senior Nathan Parkins for his contributions to the program. "Nate did a great job representing on the relays and in his breaststroke," said Storm head coach Adam Cvetich. "He always does a great job of bringing the team and group together, representative of a true team player."
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Storm narrowly edged out Coe by a score of 63-60.
- Jay Ceperley won both the men's 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly, swimming a season-best time of 56.76 in the latter.
- Christopher Olds swam a time of 11:21.33 in the 1,000 freestyle, a new career-best.
- Gabe Bruns also won the 100 yard freestyle in a time of 55.72.
