DUBUQUE, Iowa — Demond George scored 21 points and Loras handed the Simpson men's basketball team its second straight loss, 73-65 on Saturday.
George scored 16 points in the second half for the Duhawks (10-4, 3-2), who led by as many as 16 in winning their seventh game in a row. Josh Ruggles scored 16 points off the bench and Danny Quinn added 10 points.
Sam Amsbaugh scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half for the Storm (9-4, 2-2), who last led at the midway point of the first half. DJ Dafney added 14 points and eight rebounds.
Simpson trailed by as many as 13 in the first half but closed the gap to six at halftime. Nick Noah's layup cut the lead to 44-39 midway through the second half, but Simpson couldn't get closer.
