Storm fall to Drake in exhibition contest
DES MOINES, Iowa — DJ Dafney had 13 points and five rebounds as the Simpson men's basketball team lost to Drake 76-61 in an exhibition contest Saturday at the Knapp Center.
Sam Amsbaugh finished with 12 points and five rebounds for the Storm, who hung around with the Division I Bulldogs in the first half. Simpson trailed 28-22 at halftime and kept it a one-possession game for most of the period.
Reed Timmer scored a game-high 21 points and Kory Kuenstling had nine rebounds for Drake, which broke the game open with a 16-5 lead to start the second half.
UP NEXT
Simpson gets a day off before hosting Waldorf on Monday. The Warriors (2-5) lost to St. Cloud State 86-64 in an exhibition on Friday. Start time is set for 8 p.m.
